Practical answers for a one-time, self-hosted install. The price is the amount shown when sales open. This page does not list a price.

What hardware do I need?

Raspberry Pi 3, 4, or 5, or another Linux box with systemd
RTL-SDR dongle and an antenna
dump1090-fa or readsb already running (PiAware is fine)
The license key from the Lemon Squeezy receipt email
A network connection for the first install

Keep tar1090 or SkyAware. SkyBoss uses the same aircraft feed and does not replace that map. A normal install does not need Node. The release includes the desk. The install script installs the Python packages it needs. Mapbox is optional. Without a token, the desk uses a free dark basemap. A FlightAware AeroAPI key is optional and is one you provide.

How do I install it?

Same three steps as the install guide. Read the script before you run it. On this site the script is /install, the same file as /install.sh.

Replace your-key with the license key from the receipt email. The script stops before it installs anything if that key is missing or not valid. When it finishes, on your LAN open http://<your-pi-ip>:8000. Enter the same license key, then pick the airport. The desk opens after that.

How many times can I download?

Each license key can download the release 5 times per UTC day. The site stores that count under a hash of the key. It does not store the key. If the count cannot be read or written, the download is refused. The privacy page describes the check.

I lost my license key

The key is in the Lemon Squeezy receipt email. If you cannot find that mail, open Lemon Squeezy My Orders and look up the order with the email you used at checkout. There is no SkyBoss account to sign in to.

Can I get a refund?

You can ask within 30 days of the purchase. Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record, processes the refund. The steps are on the refund page.

How do updates work?

Run the installer again with the same license key. Settings, log files, and database files stay in place. The release replaces data/notable_aircraft.json and data/aircraft_db.csv, and the service restarts.
